Detective Alcott B. Grimsleyby ~callupish

Detective Alcott Benedict Grimsley is a Brookham Night Detective, who specialises in mentally-active, physically-demanding cases that involve the Recently-Dead and their Pre-Afterlife matters. His job is basically solving curious cases so that his clients can finally rest in peace, before the case has gone too cold (or in the case of those who return as zombies; before they fully decompose and remain as Nightcrawlers).

The Detective Line that he belongs to is infested with murderous quacks, who are out to kill anyone they can put the blame on for fast and easy money (and no results). But Grimsley is not like that. He intends to do the job the PROPER WAY as he thinks it should be, and his precocious, amateur and intellectual ideas have once been met with disdain and dismissal. Eventually, with the help of his friends and satisfied clients, word began to spread, and a revolution has begun, with him as its pioneer.

Professionally, he is charming and sociable, and can speak of a wide range of topics under the sun. He’s the typical English gentleman of the Victoria Era. God save the Queen, and all that. The brain is sharp and bright; the body is fit and trim; the soul adverse to any sappy emotion.

In personal life, his friends know him as an arrogant and pompous creature who thinks his worldliness puts him above many people, most especially Day Dwellers. He is misanthropic due to bad experience, and rather annoying. He can’t keep his mind idle - he needs to be doing something. And most of the time when he’s not doing cases or reading, he comes up with ways to mock and insult any person (or if within range, teasingly shoot them).

He values loyalty in friendship, and would do anything to help his friends.

To sum it up: He’s the Best Detective, and the Worst Person, for the job.

GRIMS CONTINUES TO BE A CHARMER IN EVERY WAY...h-his hat helps to display emotions! Aw man, that is seriously the best thing. And yes, totally agreed with the previous comments that his feet are adorable...I had no idea his Jersey Devil design was based on Donkey parts! CUTE CUTE CUTE aaah I'm all in a tizzy now 6u9

psst, I am curious, how did his right wing get so many holes?

And an even late reply, because while I was trying to catch up with some recent comments while taking a break from writing, I TOTALLY SCREAMED BECAUSE WOW WHEN DID I GET 31 COMMENTS TO REPLY BACK TO. HONESTLY.
And this one is one of them! It's a super old comment, sorry!

Yeah, his hat is supposed to display emotion! It's a little prop I use to /cheat/, since Grimsley has a concrete skull face, and sometimes his body language is not enough to describe his thoughts properly.

And hehe, not everyone does either! They mistake him for a crow, a llama (common) and a horse. I chose to base him on a donkey since their skull looks exactly like how I draw Grims' head, and they have the nicest looking skulls, and not many people would think about using a donkey as their character.

Oh, that one was an accident! It happens sometime after Chapter 1. The right wing got heavily damaged after a scuffle with a rather scratchy and bitey tiny creature, and the constant tossing about between the flora.

Oh dear God, you think his twisted donkey hooves are super cute?!?!?! The shoes are nicer and easier to draw though!
